Choosing a Wedding Photographer
So you’ve got the date booked, the invites are sent out, but you’re still struggling to find the perfect wedding photographer. Don’t panic, it doesn’t have to be difficult.
Finding wedding photographers online is easy, websites provide a fantastic way for photographers to showcase their work, and the minor details on their website can show whether they’re the right one for your wedding.
The first thing is to check their portfolio or gallery and see what they have done for previous customers, find out if the work is up to your standards. Following this, read their bio. We know this can be the boring part, especially if they have written 1000 words on their self. It’s important to know where they are located and the following questions are ones that need to be answered. Do they travel out? How much do they charge? Do they have extra charges for editing or printing? How do they distribute the photographs? Do they have an assistant? And how many weddings have they photographed in the past?
Many people can often make the mistake of choosing a wedding photographer just because they are local, but some do not charge a great deal for travel, occasionally whatever their travel costs. So before you start only searching locally, remember there are a host of options out there.
BLG also recommend that you set your budget early, and when you pitch for a wedding photographer, tell them what your price is straight away, then you can find out if they can work with it, and if not, you can then move on to an alternative.
