Live Photos – a Revolutionary Way to Take Photographs
A feature to take live photographs has now been added to smart phones. This feature allows users to use the camera on their mobile phone in a whole new way, bringing photographs to life once they have been captured.
How does it work?
When users are taking a photograph, the phone camera will record 3 seconds of video footage as well. This will also include audio. The photograph will be taken in exactly the same way, with one single touch of a button – users will just need to ensure that they keep their phone still for long enough so as not to blur video footage. The rear camera of the device is 12 megapixels, and the front camera is 5 megapixels.
How can you use it?
Live photographs are similar to a GIF. Once one has been created, users will be able to view it in their gallery and share it on various websites. They will also be able to set the moving image as their phone’s wallpaper.
Whilst this is only available on a few devices, it is a revolutionary new way of capturing images for smart phone camera users. It is an interesting method of storing photographs, finding a balance between video and photographic formats.
