Some Photo Editing Tips
Lots of people are now choosing to digitally edit their photographs. It’s becoming increasingly accessible and can be used for a multitude of purposes, from editing a photo before posting it on social media to enhancing professional photographs for advertising purposes. There are lots of different ways to edit your photographs, so here are some general tips to bear in mind:
- Don’t overdo it. Photographs which are over-edited can end up looking far less appealing than the original. They will also probably look fake, which is likely to be something you want to avoid. Make small, subtle changes bit by bit.
- Choose vibrance rather than saturation. This tends to work much better for skin tones, and will pick out less intense colours that are more in need of enhancement.
- Edit exposure first of all. This will give you a good starting point and will fix the basics before you go into more depth with your editing.
- Use a healing brush to edit out small points. This could be anything from a distracting mark in the background to a crease in a piece of clothing. It will make your image look clean, neat and tidy.
