Developing on old film
Photographs now have lost their identity. Back in the day photographs were about development; the skill and art of making photos look nice without post processing effects. Being hunkered in the dark rooms of old, developing and touching up the photos you had taken. You could not quickly delete a bad one, or check to see if your hair in the selfie looked nice; you had to gamble and trust your ability to take a good photograph, and then trust your ability to develop one.
There is a movement, though, that is seeing people bring back that dying art, just with the trappings of modern photography. Lenses are better, cameras are better and you can still choose the pictures you like. Except that old art of development has begun a retro hobby for many people. By being able to develop in such a way they are also carving themselves out a niche of activity that draws envious glances from many.
